Job Description

Dynamic boutique political law firm in Downtown Los Angeles seeks Legal Administrative Assistant to work with a number of the firm’s attorneys, including the firm’s Principal Attorney.

Responsibilities

Court and administrative filings in federal and state courts and government agencies.
Preparing correspondence, memoranda, forms, presentations, and other legal documents using advanced knowledge and skills with word processing related and other software programs.
Proofreading and editing text for grammatical, typographical and formatting issues.
Preparing excel spreadsheets and other documents to assist attorneys. Organizing documents for production to government agencies or in response to discovery requests.
Scheduling appointments, making travel and/or meeting arrangements, interfacing with clients, and maintaining firm calendars.
Assisting with the firm billing process, including maintaining billing records and recording time in the firm’s billing software.
Assisting with firm marketing materials, website and other external communications.

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience supporting a fast-paced legal team. Experience with California state and federal court filing, knowledge of local court rules, experience with True Filing and other e-filing programs.
Experience with MS Office Suite and Outlook, including the creation of Tables of Contents and Authorities.
Intermediate to advanced computer aptitude using various software programs, including Adobe Acrobat Pro, Dropbox and/or Google Drive, Pacer and other similar programs.
Ability to multitask and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
Strong proofreading skills and overall attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a team environment.
