SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with strong academic record.
2+ years of accounting experience within a public accounting firm and/or the entertainment industry OR 3+ years of bookkeeping experience for high net-worth individuals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across the organization.
Proficient use of QuickBooks and Excel.
Extremely detail-oriented to create accurate and timely reports.
Strong work ethic with a positive attitude & a fit with the company’s culture & values.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES FOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
Responsible for preparation of accurate and timely financial recordkeeping and ensure adherence to business management related policies and procedures, including AR, AP, Bank Reconciliations, and other GL Account Reconciliations
Review & approve expense coding from bill pay process
Reconcile & resolve issues for each client monthly
Monitor transactions & accounts to ensure payments are current and processed efficiently
Review with credit card downloading and account coding for accuracy
Assist with year-end 1099 processing and tax packages
Assist Senior Staff Accountants and Team Controllers as needed
Handle Ad hoc projects as needed
Review and manage AP specialist work to meet requirements
Second review of all bill pay and transactions
Responsible for preparation of commission statements
Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries.
Prepare initial payroll registers
Monitor employee’s receipt matching
Assist with monthly and annual budgeting

This position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understands the need to work in an integrated manner with other members of the department in furtherance of goals, objectives, and knowledge.
