The Position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all wage payment processes made to employees, vendors and consultants to ensure they are properly processed and recorded in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and company policy. Payroll is approximately for 100 employees which is primarily domestic, however we do have physical presence in Canada, Netherlands, UK and Ukraine.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborate with People & Culture and employees’ managers to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll disbursements.
Process and payout employee reimbursements.
Coordinate, analyze and process quarterly bonus and monthly commissions.
Track and review changes to benefit deductions and miscellaneous variable compensation to ensure accurate records and reporting.
Accurately manage and record employee and employer 401k contributions.
Timely and accurately process all payroll related journal entries and associated reconciliations.
Provide support for calendar year-end payroll related regulatory reporting requirements.
Assist in the implementation of Paylocity modules such as reimbursements.
Evaluate and improve existing payroll policies.
Ensure proper internal controls are being implemented.
Assist with audit and process year-end W2’s and 1099’s.
Point person for payroll-related questions and resolving payroll-related issues, including our annual audit.
Process expense reports and monthly AMEX statements.
Participate in other projects and process improvements.

Desired Skills And Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business accounting environment with hands on knowledge of full cycle payroll processing.
International payroll experience is preferred.
Paylocity experience preferred.
Extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels and across functional departments.
Proficient with financial software applications including strong Excel skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task in time sensitive situations.
Team player who also works well independently.
Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
Knowledge of accounting and/or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
